Is Ash Ponders the author’s real name?:
Ash Ponders’ name isn’t really Ash Ponders. When Ash was small his father used to call him “Ponders.” Ash later used the name A. Ponders when publishing a zine (called Ponder That) about falling in love with twin girls in the grade ahead of him. This follows the tradition in the zine world of taking a nom de guerre from your first zine. Later still, Ash changed his name without telling his parents. This was a mistake. It caused all kinds of confusion, and was essentially an act of vanity. So, realizing that in addition to the idiocies already mentioned the name change was a major slight for his family, he changed it back. Don’t tell his parents. They’d be mad.Ash introduces himself as Ash Ponders to this day.
